Suzuki has revealed its all-new 2022 SX4 Crossover. The new Suzuki SX4 Crossover‘s design basis on: emotion, quality and aerodynamics. Aerodynamics which improve fuel economy, a bold, characteristic crossover shape, dynamic lines and numerous sophisticated touches all combine to create a highly distinctive look.

Suzuki S-Cross has a shape that doesn’t really break new ground in a styling sense, but is neat and tidy in its execution and likely to remain timeless. Arguably the most distinctive feature is the clamshell bonnet, which gives the vehicle a solid European look. He explained that a lot of work has gone into improving aerodynamic penetration in order to reduce consumption and emissions.

The Suzuki S-Cross is larger than the superseded SX4 and is aimed at those who want a family wagon capable of handling the kids in their teenage years. Its back seat and boot space are considerably larger than its ancestor.

Smoothness and sophistication on the road were the first impressions when we took our Suzuki S-Cross onto the famed Great Ocean Road in Victoria. Though there’s a fair bit of tyre noise on coarse-chip surfaces, it’s pleasantly quiet on other roads. Dirt tracks were traversed with ease, even in the front-drive S-Cross model.

The first power plant is a 1.6-liter turbo-diesel rated for 118hp (120PS) and 320Nm (236 lb-ft) of peak torque connected to a 6-speed manual and standard start-stop system returning 4.2 l/100km (56.0 mpg US or 67.3 mpg UK) and 110 g / km of CO2 emissions in the combined test cycle.

The other engine is a 1.6-liter naturally-aspirated petrol, also delivering 118hp (120PS), but less than half the torque of the diesel at 156Nm (115 lb-ft). With the standard 5-speed manual (there’s an optional CVT with steering wheel paddles), the 2016 SX4 has a combined cycle fuel consumption of 5.4 l/100km, equal to 43.6 mpg US / 52.3 mpg UK.
